Everything you need to know during your ski vacation with us in Kiroro Ski Resort including access, lift passes, rentals etc.

Seasons

Winter, lasting from December to early March, sees temperatures ranging from -11 to 3°C. Spring follows with milder temperatures between 5 and 16°C. Summer, from July to early September, brings warmer conditions with temperatures from 10 to 25°C. From late September to November temperatures drop to between 0 and 15°C.
What to wear in winter

To stay warm, wear a thermal base layer with long-sleeved shirts, pants, and a thick winter jacket designed for snow. Beanies, scarves, and sunglasses protect your face and head. Thick wool socks and snow boots are essential for warmth and to prevent slipping.
What to wear year-round

In summer, days are hot, so wear shorts and light cotton clothes. A windshield jacket is useful for windy conditions, and a light jacket or cardigan for cooler evenings. In autumn and spring, long sleeves, pants, fleeces, and hoodies are ideal. Heavier coats or sweaters are good for unpredictable weather.
Money

The official currency of Japan is the Japanese yen, though credit cards are also widely accepted. Please be advised to have cash with you because there is not ATM in Kiroro Resort.
Driving

An International Driving Permit is required to drive in Japan. However, we advise against winter driving unless guests are experienced with snow conditions, as it demands specialized techniques.
Internet

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and suites, though access may be limited in certain areas of the resort.

Ski Resort

How do I get to the Kiroro Snow Resort (Ski area)?

There are two ways to access the ski area.

Take the gondola from in front of the hotel (800m to lift).
Catch the free shuttle bus which runs between Yu Kiroro and Kiroro Snow Resort. The bus ride takes approximately 3 minutes.

Rooms & Rates

What is included in the room rate?

The room rate at Yu Kiroro includes consumption tax. However, accommodation tax, as required by local municipalities, is not included. This tax may be collected separately upon check-in. We appreciate your understanding.

Does my reservation require any guarantee?

All confirmed reservations requires a 20% deposit and full payment to be made in line with the terms and conditions of the specific rate type chosen.

Do your suites have wifi?

Wireless Internet is available throughout the hotel and complimentary to guests staying at Yu Kiroro.

Is there daily cleaning?

As part of our commitment to a more sustainable environment, Yu Kiroro offers limited housekeeping services during your stay.

Housekeeping Schedule:

Simple Room Cleaning is provided on the third day starting from your arrival date, and then every other day.
- Includes:
  - Towel change
  - Coffee and tea replenishment
  - Replenishment of bottled water
  - Washing of dishes in the sink
  - Garbage disposal
  - Bathroom cleaning
Sheet Change occurs on the fifth day of your stay and then every fourth day after that. On these days, your room will also be vacuumed.

Green Service:

On non-cleaning days, we provide Green Service, which includes:

Garbage disposal
Replenishment of bottled water

Do you have King size beds in all rooms?

All master bedrooms have king size beds, and other bedrooms have single beds.

*Studio room, 2 Bedroom deluxe and 3 Bedroom deluxe have only single beds.

Are safety deposit boxes available at Yu Kiroro?

Are there any “smoking rooms” available?

Smoking is strictly prohibited within the Yu Kiroro building and we reserve the right to issue fines for guests found smoking on premise. A designated smoking area is available. Please do not hesitate to ask our friendly Guest Services Team for more information.

Are there laundry facilities available?

All units contain washing machine.

What cooking facilities are available?

Each suite is equipped with private cooking facilities including induction cooker and either microwave or oven. Cooking utensils such as pots, pans, chopping boards, kettle are available in the suite. Salt, pepper cooking oil and soy sauce will also be provided and replenished when needed.

Is there a coffee machine in the suites?

All suites are equipped with a Nespresso machine. Coffee capsules will be replenished during your housekeeping service.

What are the check-in and check-out times of the hotel?

The standard check-in time is 15:00pm and check-out at 10:00am.

What proof of identity do I need at check in?

If you are a non-resident of Japan, by law we are required to make a copy of your passport. If you are a resident of Japan, you are only required to show your residents card. We also kindly ask that you provide your credit card details in case of any in-room purchases during your stay.

What happens if I lose my key?

There is a replacement fee of JPY1,000 if you lose your room key.

Travelling With Children

What facilities are available for children?

There is a Kid’s Space at the hotel equipped with books, a mini playground and TV. There is also a Family Space for the whole family to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Please note that this is not a childcare service and that parental supervision is required. Rental of board games, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch are also available. Please reach out to our front office team for more information.

Are baby cots and highchairs available?

Yes, these items are available on request and cost an additional JPY5,000 per night.

Dining

Where is breakfast served?

Our restaurant Yukashi serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also offer Breakfast bento service that we can deliver to your room as breakfast in bed.

Are vegetarian options available in the restaurant?

Vegetarian selections are available. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please contact our restaurant ([email protected]) before your stay.

Facilities

Is there an onsen in the hotel?

Yu Kiroro has its own natural onsen located on Level 1 of Wing B building. The onsen bath is separated by male and female. Private onsen room is also available for booking if you would like to have more privacy. Kindly note that availability of the private onsen is subject to availability at the point of request and a booking fee will apply to confirm the reservation.

Where can I store my ski gear?

Skis and snowboards are not permitted in the Yu Kiroro suites. Our Ski Valet service is complimentary for of all our guests and allows you to safely and conveniently store your ski gear when not in use and overnight.

Is there a Fitness Centre in the hotel?

Yes, feel free to work out at the Yu Kiroro Gym which is open 24 hours a day.

Is there a Swimming Pool in the hotel?

There is no swimming pool in the hotel. We appreciate your understanding.

Are pets allowed at Yu Kiroro?

Pets are not allowed at Yu Kiroro. We appreciate your understanding,

If I arrive before check in or have a late flight, is there anywhere for me to store my luggage?

Our Front Office team will be more than happy to store your luggage so you can start exploring the resort upon arrival.

Can Yu Kiroro help me to book all activities required for my holiday?

We can help in arranging a charter transportation for sightseeing and activities in nearby areas. Our Guest Service team is also happy to assist with any taxi arrangements during your stay.

For all ski-related activities at the resort, the Kiroro Mountain Center is open daily from 08:30 to 17:00 during winter season. Lift tickets and lessons can be arranged through our Guest Services.

Is parking available?

Yes, there is outdoor parking available for Yu Kiroro guests. Please note that there is limited parking availability on site and it is available on a first come, first served basis. Additionally, guests may use Parking Lot 5, which is located just a few minutes' walk from the hotel.

Do you have a currency exchange in the hotel?

There is no foreign currency exchange machine or exchange service available at the front counter.

General Information

How long does it take from the airport to Yu Kiroro?

It can take 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the mode of transport and traffic conditions. Please view the access section for further information.

Where is the closest petrol station?

Shinko Otaru is the closest petrol station and it operates 24 hours a day. 30 minutes drive 24km away from Kiroro resort.

Is there an ATM around the resort?

Unfortunately, there is no ATM machines around Kiroro Resort. The nearest ATM is located at Lawson Boyodai 25 minutes’ drive. Yukiroro accepts credit cards, and e-money like QUICPay, iD, R Edy and Suica can also be used as payments.

Are there any grocery stores or shops in the resort?

The grocery options are limited around Kiroro area, we recommend buying you groceries before arriving at Yu Kiroro. There is a small store, Kiroro Mart, located near Club Med Grand, that offers a small selection of essentials. Please note that their opening hours vary by season.

Is it possible to send my ski gear and luggage prior to arrival?

Yes, guests who have made a reservation at Yu Kiroro can send their ski gear and / or luggage up to 48 hours prior to your arrival date and we will store your gear in a secure location.

Please inform reception of any incoming luggage and be sure to include your name and your reservation number. All deliveries must be paid for prior to arrival. Yu Kiroro does not accept unidentified or unpaid delivery.
