Otaru Tengu Yama

At an elevation of 532 meters, Mt. Tengu, a symbolic mountain in Otaru, offers breathtaking views of the city and the Sea of Japan.

The nighttime view from the observatory is particularly captivating. Beyond its stunning vista, Mt. Tengu boasts a variety of attractions and activities. Visitors can enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants or coffee shops with panoramic views, explore the hiking trails, take a thrilling downhill sled ride, visit the shrine, the museum, or even pet the squirrels in the enclosure. To reach the summit, a convenient ropeway operates every twelve minutes from 9 am to 8:48 pm.
